Tuscan wines are world-renowned from Montepulciano to classic Chianti. Florence’s Santo Spirito district is packed with eateries and don’t miss the ice cream parlours around Duomo.
Hidden gem
In the basement of Salvatore Ferragamo’s flagship store on Via Tornabuoni is The Salvatore Ferragamo Shoe Museum, paying homage to the ‘shoemaker to the stars’ with an eclectic collection of shoes, photos and books.
