Don’t Miss
If the Plaza de España seems familiar you’re probably a Star Wars fan; scenes from Episode II were filmed here. Once a minaret under the Moors’ rule, the elaborate Giralda tower is now part of the beautiful Seville Cathedral and makes for a beautiful photograph.
Retail Therapy
Follow the stylish locals for the best fashion. They’ll take you to Plaza Nueva and onto Calles Sierpes, Tetuán and Velázquez. The Andalucían city is home to the traditional Flamenco dress so enjoy the specialist shops in Barrio Santa Cruz.
Eat and Drink
As the city credited with the invention of tapas, Seville has over 1000 bars. Move from bar to bar trying something different in each – perhaps pulpo á galega (spicy octopus) or cojonudo (chorizo and quail egg). It’s also a great way to work your way through the wines of the region.
Hidden Gem
Summer is welcomed in the city by the annual Fiesta – a week-long celebration of music, dancing, drinking and tradition. Enjoy the spectacle of flamenco, bullfighting and bright tents among lively Andalucíans.
Day Trip
Visit Jerez de la Frontera just an hour away from Seville’s modern Santa Justa Train Station, and see the dancing horses. Visit one of the sherry bodegas to sample the local internationally renowned produce.
