Don’t Miss

The Szechenyi Baths in the centre of the city park are a great tonic to the city’s hot weather and energetic nightlife. The wellness spa has several pools, steam rooms and saunas, as well as a full fitness and beauty therapy schedule.

Retail Therapy

The vintage movie poster-shop near the Central Café is definitely worth a look; and for wonderfully stocked antique shops experience Váci utca. You’re sure to find some ones-offs at the Ecseri Saturday morning flea market.

Eat and Drink

Ráday Street near the Nyugati train station is an intimate road filled with bars and restaurants serving traditional goulash and huge servings of delicious freshly squeezed lemonade.

Hidden Gem

Cross all five bridges to take in the views of each. Take the time to climb up to the statue of Bishop Gellért at the foot of the Elizabeth Bridge. From the top of the natural spring waterfall and semicircular colonnade behind, you can see all of Budapest.

Day Trip

Esztergom town is just an hour and a half away by train from Budapest, and located on the Danube Bend. Here you’ll find the largest church in Hungary offering unbeatable views over the river. Wander over the bridge and you’ll be in Stúrovo, in Slovakia.
